10 HOUSE RULES  I WISH I HAD TAUGHT MY SON WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER

I just came back from a 2-week holiday in Canada. visited my younger sister and her beautiful family.

While I was there I noticed how my sister’s oldest son looked after his siblings, and he is very polite and always asked for permission before he took things.

When I asked my sister how my nephew who is only 11 years old was able to take care of his siblings he acted more responsibly than his age. And he does all these things without a power struggle she told me it takes a lot of effort on her part (watch the video for the whole gist 😀)

So today I’m going to share 10 house rules you can teach your child before they turn 10, trust me it will make your life easier in the long run.

HERE ARE 10 HOUSE RULES YOU MUST TEACH YOUR CHILD BEFORE THEY TURN 10

RULE 1: IF YOU MAKE A MESS CLEAN IT UP

RULE 2: NEVER TAKE ANYTHING THAT IS NOT YOURS

RULE 3: MAKE YOUR BED EVERY MORNING

RULE 4: WE PUT FAMILY FIRST

RULE 5: IF IT BELONGS TO SOMEONE ELSE, AND YOU WANT TO USE IT ASK FOR PERMISSION

RULE 6: ALWAYS TELL THE TRUTH

RULE 7: PRACTICE GOOD DENTAL AND BODY HYGIENE

RULE 8: RESPECT OTHERS AND USE KIND WORDS

RULE 9: SAY THANK YOU AND PLEASE

RULE 10: WE DO OUR BEST

I share this to say that when we try our best to teach our children some important house rules when they are little – the better it’s going to be for us and them in the future.

Back to my nephew – I love his discipline – mostly sticks to his house chore routine (whether or not his mom is at home), and he has a permanent 7’o clock alarm to wake himself and his brother up every morning on a school day which helps them get ready for school. His daily house chore is tidying the kitchen and his bedroom and he does this in a pristine way – my heart blesses him. Because I know what we do daily prepares us for the future.

Do you have any house rules in your home?
