HOW DO YOU SEE YOURSELF?

After a class session last week, I asked one of my students a question about how she sees herself.

Our conversation went like this 👇

Me: Do you wish you look like someone else?

Student: Yes

Me: why?

Student: “Because my brothers says I’m ugly”

Me: Well, I don’t think you are ugly, because there is only one of you. You are the ONLY person exactly like you!

Student: I don’t understand

Me: “You need two things to compare to another, before you can call the other one another thing. For example; what’s the opposite of bad?”

Student: “good”

Me: See, the only reason why bad is the opposite of good is because you have one thing that was “good”

God only created one of you, (pointing to her) so you can’t be ugly, because it’s just one of you in the whole world. And you’re beautiful! Because God only create the best 😊

Student: “Yes I got it now, thanks Ms Olu”

She left the lesson with a smile and confidence that day.

So, why I’m I sharing this?

As parents and teachers, and adults, we need to always encourage our girls to love themselves just as they are.

It’s our duty as parents to keep reminding our children, especially our daughters, how beautiful they are.

Let them know that beauty isn’t about being a certain size, or having your hair done or wearing a fancy outfit.

Being yourself is beautiful, and being beautiful is about being strong and kind.

Being a girl has no limits. Gender doesn’t matter. Let them know they can do just about everything.

Don’t let them waste any precious time wishing they looked like anyone else.

Say these words to them or creed shot it and send it to their phone

👉You are amazing the way you are!

👉I know you are constantly bombarded with societal messages about how girls should act or look or be.

👉Don’t let what you see on the internet or magazine shape how you feel about yourself.

👉Don’t believe everything you see on social media, most of these things are not real.

👉The images you see are touch up pictures anyway.

Dear parents, be your daughter’s number one fan 🙌🙌💃💃💃💃❤️❤️❤️

I will end today’s post with this phrase

True beauty is a result of the persistence, resilience, and confidence that comes with being a strong woman 💪

(and that’s the definition of beauty to me )

Have an amazing day guys 🥰❤️

Please I would like to hear your thoughts on this 😊❤️
